( i seen this kind of mod on one of my fire staff ) +10% recharge time for smiting prayer and +10% recharge time for illusion magic?? I'm like what.. 2 mod for totally different class and the weapons main requirement is for fire magic.

Good things that these green items don't have crazy mod on it to ruin there usefulness for them.
heh brings back memories... i still have my shield with +11% healing prayers recharge ^^

The best enchantment mod for a staff I've found in PvE is 14%.
Because of that, I have to use +19% sword and a focus.
So yeah, I wouldn't mind a decent staff.

Also, if you're into wands and focii instead of staves, then the green ones are the way to go. At least the wands are better than the PvP ones. Same linked damage and energy, but 2 skill mods instead of one.

The focii tend to be variations on the PvP/Collectors stuff, but yeah, some of the Green wands are mighty awesome.

Truth: The weapon/offhand requirements only affect damage and base energy for staves and offhands. All other mods aren't affected at all.

Mysterial: I'm guessing Mimi is referring to the +15 energy/-1 regen wands and offhands. Both combined, they give +30 energy but -2 energy regen, which isn't worth it IMO.

The 3 green Monk items are great, so it's not that bad..

I was just pointing out that there is a mesmer offhand that offers an unbound 20% Recharge. The offhand requirements to not limit this advantage, meaning it is 'better than perfect'.

Prior to green items, the best unbound recharge was 10%.

The 'better than perfect' stat for this item means it may be something that any caster would consider using, even non-mesmers, despite not meeting the reqs.

I would take +12 energy before +10% chance of an item that doesnt fit my attributes.

Which is just a collectors staff that uses domination with a health and energy fitting combination.

Somehow... I don't think it is supposed to be 20% unbound recharge... why? Because thats better than any PvP item... I call this a problem that will need to probably be dealt with. A glitch perhaps or something was coded wrong?

You tell why ? Wand + Focus.
I bring you my example:
ME Fire ele with collector items:
Fire wand : 11-22 req 9 , fast recharge using fire magic (20%)
Focus n1 : 12 energy req 9, fast recharge using fire magic (20%). fast cast using fire magic (20%)
Focus n2 : 10 energy, fire magic +1 (20%) +30 health

let's see my new set:
Rago Fire Wand: 11-22 req 9 , fast recharge using fire magic (20%) Fast cast (10%)
The Kindle Rock: 12 energy req 9, fast recharge using fire magic (20%). fire magic +1 (20%)

... I love the my new combination (...when i don't use my collector fire staff +10 armor ^^)

Yeh, i ithink the 20% recharge on aLL skills was a bug. 10% has always been the max, unless they intended it that way.

Not necessarily. Offhands can have both 20% skill recharge and 20% faster cast speed when bound to an attribute so it isn't necessarily unbalanced if it only has global skill recharge, but at 20%.

Who can't resist telling everyone in the hall after you beat them that they were owned by a yakslapper?

priceless.. heh

anways staves are getting digs but at least the fire staff, earth staff, and necro staff are pretty solid IMO. the formers add perfect mods to collector staff versions and ones a couple of my builds would be interested in (I'm no longer much of a +health fan). while the latter gets double perfect armor and can mix in blood or curse or skill of your other class line with the unbounded recharge. Necro base 80 AL? Cool

Some of the others too.. couple unbounded wands, some focii mentioned, I dunno, yeah they're not crazy nuts but a lot have their application in the mix. If you think about it comparing to Diablo2 they're a bit more useful than many of those uniques

I'm currently loving my Ragos Flame Staff.

20% Recharge
20% Fast Casting
Energy +5
Enchantments 20% longer

Yes the collector has 20/20 on it, but I have not found a +5 insightful head or a 20% enchantment, so those would have cost me an extra 15-60k each (depending on who sells based on Pre S/F prices).
